About this opportunity:
As Key Leader, you work with the retail store team to make magic happen. Your primary role is to deliver exceptional customer service that demonstrates our value of luxury for the people. You open and close the store, assist in the organization and delegation of store workload, and provide leadership on the sales floor. providing amazing customer service and connecting with and educating customers. Here are some more details of the role:

Leadership:
  • Lead the sales floor to motivate the team to achieve store sales and customer experience goals.
  • Support the daily operations of the store to ensure tasks are completed based on previously determined priorities. 
  • Support the development of a culture that balances financial results, community impact and an execution-focus creating a fun and dynamic atmosphere.

Customer Experience:
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience for everyone who visits us at our stores, with a focus on connection and education of Poppy Barley. 
  • Handle and resolve customer cases according to Poppy Barley’s values
  • Providing feedback to the management team regarding store processes, operations, product, people and customer experience bringing new ideas to push for continuous improvement of the business.
  • Partner with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Managers to lead initiatives in one of three key areas: Business for Good, Operations and Inspiring Connections. 

People:
  • Support in training team members to ensure consistency and clarity with procedures, activations and promotions. 
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members with a focus on continuous development.
  • Support the onboarding of new team members as outlined and organized by the Store Manager. 

Operations:
  • Support the execution of weekly and quarterly inventory counts. 
  • Unpack inventory and create and accept stock transfers 
  • Assist with product QC & accepting returns 

About You:
  • Demonstrated understanding of service excellence in a consumer-facing environment.
  • Some supervisory exposure or experience
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for learning—you embrace experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Passionate about the fashion industry and creating meaningful connections through styling and education.
  • A high school diploma or in progress/completed post secondary education.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

Other Details:
  • A flexible schedule, including availability for daytime, evenings, and weekends.
  • Holiday blackout period from mid-November to mid-January (exact dates determined annually).
  • Possibility of some travel to support Poppy Barley pop-up shops and events.
  • Ability to lift and unpack inventory boxes (up to 40 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
