Your Purpose
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you manage Poppy Barley’s (PB) Edmonton warehouse and oversee day-to-day operations. You will provide leadership to our small warehouse team and work alongside your team in the warehouse - approximately 50% of your time assisting with warehouse tasks like fulfilment and replenishments. You will own daily operations which will require you to solve problems and communicate clearly across departments. Your position will have a direct impact on PB’s customer service and operational success.

Your Responsibilities

Warehouse Leadership
  • Lead and manage the PB Warehouse, including staffing, scheduling, hiring and training of part-time employees
  • Manage labour budget and warehouse metrics that measure success in warehousing and fulfilment, with the goal of team accountability and continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure weekly warehouse priorities are accomplished by the team and provide on-the-floor warehouse leadership
  • Lead the reporting of monthly warehouse metrics to report on the team's performance.
  • Manage inventory receiving and movement across locations, including but not limited to incoming shipments, freight coordination, replenishment to retail locations, backroom capacity and recalling inventory from retail locations. 

Warehouse Work
  • Complete day-to-day operations such as fulfilment, replenishment, processing returns, inventory counts, troubleshooting inventory issues and routing orders; communicate with relevant partners on daily operations and fulfilment 
  • Oversee the organization of the warehouse so that all operations can happen efficiently, safety standards are met, and processes are followed.
  • Support the development and implementation of new procedures to optimize workflow and accuracy.
  • Adhere to and execute all Company policies, procedures and practices, including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
  • All hands on deck: this is a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves kind of team, and we're looking for someone who’s ready to jump in wherever needed to get the job done.
  • This work is physical and includes lifting boxes, climbing ladders, packing shoes etc. 

Operations Support
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the operations software systems
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new software solutions for warehouse management or operational processes. 
  • Assist with operations projects and analysis such as shipping reviews, packaging forecasts, inventory reports, and generating replenishment reports
  • Oversee 3PL performance
  • Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and couriers  

Your Background and Strengths
  • High school diploma and fluent in English
  • Post-secondary education is an asset
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Workspace tools such as Google Sheets
  • 2+ years of work experience in a warehouse or retail environment with previous management and leadership experience
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, cross-functional team environment
  • Motivated self-starter with good time management skills, who will understand the process flow and prioritize accordingly.
  • This position requires you to mostly be in the office / warehouse Monday to Friday; some hours can be done on a flexible schedule and remotely if desired
