Poppy Barley Job Openings

Digital Experience Manager

Description

About Poppy Barley
Poppy Barley is a Canadian brand rethinking every step of the fashion industry—from design to factory relationships to shopping experience. We create luxury, sustainable products at fair prices while being driven by our commitment to do better for people and the planet.

This role sits at the intersection of design and ecommerce. You’ll be the creative mind behind our digital storefront—bringing campaigns to life, designing stunning landing pages that convert, and ensuring our customers experience beauty and clarity at every click.

We’re looking for someone who’s as comfortable in Adobe Creative Suite as they are in Shopify Plus. Someone who can take a page redesign, product launch or campaign from concept to completion—designing it, building it, and optimizing it for conversion.

What You'll Do

Design & UX:
  • Design and update homepage banners, collection pages, and product features.
  • Create and build landing pages for product drops, campaigns, and collaborations.
  • Maintain visual consistency and brand alignment across the site.
  • Approach design with a conversion mindset — identifying friction points and opportunities to increase customer engagement and sales.
  • Apply a mobile-first mindset while keeping the full customer journey in mind — across desktop, tablet, and beyond.
  • Create wireframes and mockups for product launches and campaigns.
  • Work with the development team to audit, map, and improve key UX flows across our e-commerce site (think: homepage, PDP, cart, checkout, navigation).

Website & Ecomm Management:
  • Shopify site updates: homepage, navigation, collection pages, banners, product tags.
  • Build and launch campaign pages and product drops.
  • Merchandise product collections and support sales launches (discount codes, product tagging, gift-with-purchase logic, etc.).
  • Monitor website performance, flag UX issues, and collaborate with dev support as needed.
  • Manage and monitor product setup, descriptions, pricing, and imagery for accuracy and consistency.
  • Audit and curate product reviews.

Optimization & Collaboration:
  • Partner with the marketing, development, and product teams to align website with key moments.
  • Track performance through tools like Google Analytics to improve UX and conversion.
  • Keep the site fresh, elevated, and seasonally relevant.
  • Recommend and implement UX/UI improvements based on analytics and user feedback.
  • Support A/B testing, personalization strategies, and mobile optimization.
  • Recommend and implement SEO and content improvements to drive organic traffic.
  • Stay up-to-date with Shopify updates, e-commerce trends, and best practices.

Who You Are

  • A designer with a strong aesthetic eye and a bias toward clean, modern, editorial-inspired digital experiences.
  • You’ve worked in ecommerce or DTC before—and understand what converts.
  • You’re both creative and technical. You love designing beautiful things, and you enjoy building them.
  • You’re a clear communicator, calm under pressure, and thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • A sharp eye for layout, typography, and mobile-first design.
  • Strong project management skills—you can juggle multiple priorities and hit deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years experience in web design and/or ecommerce.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and Shopify (Liquid experience a bonus).
  • You understand the balance between brand, function, and business — and you know how to design for all three.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Bonus points for experience with Klaviyo, Fairing, Google Analytics, and/or conversion rate optimization tools.

How to Apply

Send us your portfolio, a quick note on why you’re the one, and your availability and salary expectations. Bonus points for sharing a project you’re especially proud of — and why.

Please note that this is a full-time in-person role at our head office in Edmonton, Alberta, with the potential for hybrid work arrangements.

Uniqueness is powerful. Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We welcome the unique contributions that you can bring in terms of your education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, veteran’s status, color, religion, disability, sexual orientation and beliefs.
